1. Learn how to manage your time

To succeed in this industry, it is crucial to have some awesome time management skills. Keep in mind that this is not a 9-17 job. Nobody is going to decide for you, how you need to spend your working time, and it is up to you to develop a schedule that works for you. However, as we already mentioned, this job gives you a lot of freedom, so it can be quite tempting to cheat on your schedule. Our advice for you would be to keep a bullet journal, where you can plan your daily tasks, and monitor your progress over time. You could also consider keeping a work habit tracker, to help you develop some lucrative working habits, such as waking up early each day, returning all missed calls immediately and so on.

2. Write quality real estate scripts

To be a great realtor you will also need some awesome selling skills. Don’t worry if you are not a natural born seller, as these skills can actually be learned. Start by mastering the art of writing quality real estate scripts. Whether you use the scripts for property presentations, for advertising yourself or simply for approaching your leads, it is important to write messages that will actually grab the attention of your audience. If you feel like you need some help with this process, you could always attend some real estate coaching programs.

3. Build your sales confidence

Learning how to motivate yourself is another skill that you will have to master. If you work for an agency, you will probably attend some motivational training sessions from time to time. Even so, generic training sessions won’t work if you don’t believe in yourself and if you don’t have some clear goals. So consider the reasons why you chose this career, turn those reasons into goals, and use those goals to motivate yourself. Moreover, you should also be very responsible with your finances. You should always save for rainy days, because when you work in sales, you will sometimes deal with some dry spells. During hard periods, when you can’t seem to close any deal, it helps to have savings that you can count on, because financial instability will only further increase your desperation, making it even hard for you to bounce back in the game.
